Brittany, 4 days

Great 4 days in fantastic company with the great Natalie Ryan!! 🙌 thank you for challenging me last minute to go on this mini trip after Covid, and I’m sorry my knee didn’t allow us to hike as we wished.

@Nat, my partner in pic-nics on windy cliffs with evil seagulls, improvised dinners in the backyard sunset scenario, of course to the famous Buddha Bar of Bretagne (private joke, there is none, don’t have expectations) 🤣 and many more… our plan was not to have a plan, so we’ve improvised along the way! A special thank you to having killed my stomach with a kouign-amann for dessert over lunch… is the killer, yes??!!! 😂

NOTE TO SELF

Sunscreen is a must, a cap/hat too if you have sensitive scalp.

Careful with the scratchy evil bushes, allergies are possible.

Traffic signs may be challenging sometimes, beware.

Watch for diving seagulls while pic-nicking… you might loose an eye for a piece of cheese (they are really into compté) 😂

Don’t forget when you parked the car, you might get carried away by holiday thoughts and forget…

Renting a car is important to move around, and parking is not expensive (except in Saint Malo).

Take swimsuit with you at all times, you may be so lucky you can enjoy the beach for a while.

HOLLY GRAILS ☺️

Everyone in Bretagne is very welcoming and helpful, they will immediately speak to you in English if they understand you are not french.

Our Gîte was a great choice!! The place was just fantastic, central to everywhere you will want to visit around. Very nice staff, and amazing garden where you can chill out and even watch a beautiful sunset.

A visit to Cap Fréhel is a must, on the way pass by Saint Lunaire town, what a charming little town to have a walk.

Moustache ice cream in Dinard is a must go, great after or before a walk around the seaside path with amazing vistas of the ocean and gorgeous houses.

Driving through the secondary roads surrounded by beautiful corn fields (wonder what they use them for..🤔).

HELL NO

2h crêpe wait.. super nice creperie however extremely slow. Service is quite slow in most places around Brittany, none seems to be in any kind of rush.

MYTH BUSTING

Indeed a very windy place… always… take a jacket, and some extra layers, just in case, especially at night.

The rock sculptures in Rothéneuf are not so impressive. However there are small little beaches around that are quite nice to chill or dive.

The walk on Saint-Jacut-de-la-mer around and to the islands of the archipelago of Ebihens is nice however not the most impressive. It is a nice walk around for the afternoon when the tide is low, and you can have a drink later to the evening.
